About De Ann

De Ann Singh has been teaching calligraphy for 30 years. She has operated a professional calligraphy studio, Designing Letters for as many years. She has been a member of the Society for Calligraphy since 1979, serving a four year term as president and is editor of "The Calligraph." She is the originator of the annual calligraphy conference in Pomona, CA, "Letters California Style."

She has taught for the City of Los Angeles Recreation and Parks, Beverly Hills School District, Santa Monica College Community Services, Los Angeles Unified School District, Otis School of Art and Design Evening School, Rand Calligraphy Club and most recently Sinai Temple in Century City.

She has worked as a calligrapher for the Los Angeles County Supervisors. You can see her work in movies and television such as: King of California with Michael Douglas, National Treasure: Book of Secrets, the title page of "The Book of Shadows" from Charmed and Buffy the Vampire Killer. Some of her celebrity clients are: Tom Cruise, Barbra Streisand, George Schlauter Productions, The Comedy Awards, Tori Spelling, Fox Sports, HBO, Trimark Productions, Louis Stein Gallery, The Academy Awards, Twentieth Century Fox. She is a qualified vendor in LA 411 directory for the film and television industry.

DeAnn has written a book with friend Marci Donley titled, Hand Lettering, Simple, Creative Styles for Cards, Scrapbooks & More. She was technical editor and contributor for Marci's book, Simple Stroke Calligraphy.

She is a wife, mother of three and grandmother of five.
